On the far side of the Hudson River Way Pedestrian Bridge, the Albany Riverfront Park is home to an 800-seat amphitheatre. In addition, a visitors center houses an explanation of the Hudson River’s tides. The park also features a bike trail and boat launch.

Corning Park
Behind Albany City Hall

Corning Park, named for long-time former Mayor Erastus Corning. This small but lively communal spot comes alive with colorful floral displays in summer.

East Capitol Park

Just in front of the New York Capitol facing State Street and downtown Albany lies East Capitol Park. This space is a popular destination for tourists, news reporters and public interest groups, as well as for official state ceremonies and seasonal fireworks displays.

Lincoln Park

Maiden Lane Park

Maiden Lane Park is a favorite lunchtime destination for downtown Albany employees, Located at the east end of Maiden Lane and bordered by James Street, Pine Street and Broadway, the recently renovated park boasts beautiful landscaping, permanent chess tables and an overall tranquil atmosphere.

Ten Eyck Courtyard
Corner of North Pearl and State Streets

Ten Eyck Courtyard, a beautiful gathering place highlighted by its welcoming park benches, picnic tables and relaxing fountain. Also the summer home of the Downtown Albany BID´s At the Park Lunchtime Concert Series, this park serves as a fun retreat for a break during the day. In addition, Ten Eyck Courtyard is a WiFi location.

Tricentennial Park
Broadway and Columbia Streets

Bordered by James Street, Steuben Place, Broadway and Columbia Street, Tricentennial Park boasts beautiful spring and summer flower beds and a memorial statue of Thomas Whalen III, the former Mayor of Albany. With plenty of seating and a charming ambiance, Tricentennial Park is a favorite location in which downtown Albany visitors and workers can socialize.

Wallenburg Park
Between North Pearl Street and Broadway

Boasting a spacious and inviting green space between North Pearl Street and Broadway, adjacent to Clinton Avenue, Wallenburg Park is one of downtown Albany´s hidden treasures. A winding path through the park invites casual walkers.

 

Washington Park

Home to the annual Tulip Festival, Park Playhouse, Capital Holiday Lights and much more, Washington Park is downtown Albany´s largest and most historic green space. Designed by Frederick Law Olmstead and boasting numerous flower beds, huge shade trees, the historic Lake House and many historical monuments, Washington Park is a prime gathering place for residents, visitors and historians alike.

West Capitol Park
Between Swan and Eagle Streets

A popular gathering spot located near Empire State Plaza, West Capitol Park boasts a spectacular view of the New York State Capitol and hosts a variety of events. Come here to take a break, grab lunch from one of the dozens of vendors who set up in warm weather, and enjoy the hustle and bustle of downtown Albany.
