The Capital City of Albany is located in the heart of New York’s Tech Valley, within a few hours’ drive of New York City, Boston and Montreal. Located along the banks of the historic Hudson River, downtown Albany is easily accessible via a system of major highways and state and local arteries.
FROM POINTS NORTH
Adirondack Northway (I-87) south to I-90 east to I-787 south. Downtown Albany Exit 4A (Colonie Street/Columbia Street), Exit 4B (Clinton Avenue), Exit 3A (Empire State Plaza) and Exit 3B (Madison Avenue).
FROM POINTS SOUTH
New York State Thruway (I-87) north to Exit 23 to I-787 north. Downtown Albany Exit 3 (Empire State Plaza) and Exit 4 (Downtown Albany).
FROM POINTS EAST
I-90 west to I-787 south. Downtown Albany Exit 4A (Colonie Street/Columbia Street), Exit 4B (Clinton Avenue), Exit 3A (Empire State Plaza) and Exit 3B (Madison Avenue). If approaching from Routes 9 & 20, cross the Hudson River on the Dunn Memorial Bridge and follow signs for the Empire State Plaza.
FROM POINTS WEST
New York State Thruway (I-90) east to Exit 24. Follow I-90 east to I-787 south. Downtown Albany Exit 4A (Colonie Street/Columbia Street), Exit 4B (Clinton Avenue), Exit 3A (Empire State Plaza) and Exit 3B (Madison Avenue).
